What is the new report?

Guaranteed Livable Basic Income is a premise that everyone between the ages of 17 and 64 will have a guaranteed MINIMUM income. However, over the last 5 years since the 2018 report, statistics have changed greatly, the three territories, reserves, and temporary workers have been added, same as all those between 17 and 18 years of age. So a totally new report is needed.

Not to mention, that Scenarios 2 and 3 were not reported on back in April 2021, the last costing report. This time, with all three scenarios, which both 2 and 3 are primarily working-class Canadians with need of help from inflation and degrading wages.

So what do we do next to help it along?

You contact your local MP in support of the report and to study it. Canadians deserve to know how much it would cost for them, but also how many Canadians would benefit from being out of poverty, which scenario to use is important too, as it affects all of us in the end.

With Canada on track to spending nearly $100 billion a year on poverty related issues, it’s time to think ahead for the next generation. To decrease our poverty related costs such as Health Care when we don’t stay healthy, Education (It’s more expensive to train you later in life than in the beginning), Justice System (less crime, theft, property damage), Mental Health (again, Justice, Health, Property), and more.

Your help is needed in letting your local MP know you support studying all 3 scenarios.
